What's the difference between a Georgian e-visa and a TRC?

Short answer
An e-visa (the D3) lets you enter Georgia for a short stay — up to 90 days. A TRC (Temporary Residence Card) lets you live there for a year or more and is what you apply for once you're staying to study, work, or run a business.
The e-visa (D3)
The D3 e-visa is an entry document. If your nationality isn't visa-free, you apply for it online before travelling. It typically allows a stay of up to 90 days — enough to arrive, get set up, and begin a residence application.
The TRC
A Temporary Residence Card is a residence document. It's the biometric card that lets you stay beyond a short visit — for a year at a time, renewable — on the basis of study, work, business, or family. Most people who are actually relocating need a TRC, not just a visa.
How they work together
For many movers the path is: enter visa-free or on a D3 e-visa, then apply for a TRC from inside Georgia once you have the supporting documents (an enrolment letter, IE registration, a lease, and so on). We prepare both, in the right order, with a guide to filing each.
